Pet Boarding at Home Environment

When the time comes for the annual holiday travel season more and more pet owners are looking for alternatives to the traditional kennel boarding services. Many dog and cat owners are willing to go the extra mile if it means their furry friends are kept in a comfortable and caring environment. Pet hotels and even doggy holiday resorts are becoming more and more popular and many offer a level of luxury to pets that exceeds what the owners themselves enjoy while away.

Off Leash Parks in Buenos Aires Argentina

Avenida de Mayo Dog Park Off leash parks were designed with the best of intentions as these parks offer a wonderful opportunity for your dog to socialize, exercise and let go off some energy. These parks may or may not be totally fenced off.

I have visited every off leash park in the Buenos Aires, Argentina. I am including both the bad and the good aspects of dog parks. My feeling is that off leash should not mean out of control. I believe dog parks are a privilege, not a right.

Dog parks are a great way to meet other dog owners, possibly forming smaller groups so these new found friends can meet at another location. You might even meet the person of your dreams who you already know is a dog lover!

DNA TO FIGHT DOG POOP

Owners were reacting positively to the six-month trial program, she told the agency, because they wanted their streets to be clean.

At the moment providing a DNA sample was up to individual dog owners, but the city was considering making it compulsory, she added.

Failure to clear up dog mess is not confined to Petah Tikva.

Other have given away free bags to encourage owners to pick up after their dogs.

Officials in an Israeli city have come up with an innovative way of tracking dog owners who allow their pets to foul the streets - DNA analysis.

Authorities in Petah Tikva, near Tel Aviv, are setting up a special DNA database of local dogs.

They will use the data to match dogs' droppings to owners - and punish those who do not clean up after their pets.

While those who keep the streets clear will be rewarded, owners who fail to scoop the poop could face fines.

"My goal is to get the residents involved and tell them that together, we can make our environment clean," Tika Bar-On, the city's chief veterinarian.

BUENOS AIRES PETS FRIENDLY HOTELS

Buenos Aires is becoming a pet friendly city indoors and out.
correr Baires 063

It is becoming a more and more common policy in the best hotels of Buenos Aires to accept pets in the same suites as their masters. For foreigners wishing to travel to Buenos Aires but reluctant to leave their pets behind, there are options aplenty—and stylish ones at that.

According to La Nación (one of the major local newspapers), at some hotels, pets can have their own water and food dishes with their names on them. Of course there are some restrictions: some hotels won’t allow pets that are over 10 kilos and no hotel wants a barking dog disturbing the sleep of other guests.

At any time you can use PetsVentura® Luxury Pets Boarding Hotel Services.

DOGS IN BUENOS AIRES

Buenos Aires, Argentina is, like many other cities in a world, a city that is full of dogs always eager to take a stroll and to play. This is why five days a week, while their owners are at work the "Pasea Perros" (Dog Walker) goes to work, something very characteristic of this city.

The Dog Walker has, as its name implies, the job of walking the "man's best friend." It is a job with a large responsibility; pets in Buenos Aires are considered an important part of the family.

On the streets of Buenos Aires you will see the average Dog Walker taking care of around 10 dogs at a time, that's 40 paws that they have to keep track of at all times. Usually they walk calmly with their herd, a common site for the inhabitants of Buenos Aires, but something that never ceases to amaze North American and European tourists visiting the city, who photograph them repeatedly.

The leader of the picturesque herd maintains the dogs calm, constantly rearranging the leaches to avoid tangling, and, most importantly, the fights. Fights are, of course, punished by the Walker, separating the rowdy dogs from the rest and leaving them to cool down in what the dog walkers refer to as the "The Safe Zone," an area reserved exclusively for the canines that pick fights. The dogs causing problems are kept separated from the rest until the cool down, usually tied to a tree away from the rest of the group. None the less, their main concern is to keep the doggies happy and giving them the chance to interact with others of their own, also giving the dog walkers to get together and talk, sharing their knowledge on dogs psychology.
