What to do?
A matter-of-fact level, supplying the pet with kosher food for the Jewish holiday of Passover, when the rules are heightened to entirely exclude leavened bread, or anything made from the five major grains (wheat, rye, barley, oats and spelt), means that the cat or dog can be fed at home, with the family, without conflicting with the week-long prohibition. Also it should not include "by-products" of these.
Kosher foods and ingredients can be found at independent stores located near Jewish communities and in some high-end stores mainly in Buenos Aires Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Porto Alegre, Lima, Montevideo and Caracas.
To our best knowledge there is no kosher food made in particular for pets in South America.
Happy Passover!
